أيهما تستخدم؟
استخدم BibLaTeX مع Biber في المشاريع الجديدة. فهو يدعم أنواع مدخلات أكثر وأنماط اقتباس مرنة وقوائم مراجع لكل فصل وصيانة نشطة. أما BibTeX فقديم لكنه لا يزال مدعومًا على نطاق واسع، وهو مطلوب لإيداعات arXiv وقوالب المجلات الأقدم.

Missing \bibliography command
BibTeX only generates the bibliography where \bibliography{filename} appears. Without it, no reference list is printed, even if \cite commands are present.
الإصلاح:Add \bibliographystyle{plain} and \bibliography{references} before \end{document}.
اسم ملف .bib خاطئ
\bibliography{references} expects a file named references.bib in the same directory. A mismatch produces a "I found no \bibstyle command" or similar error.
الإصلاح:Ensure the filename in \bibliography{} exactly matches your .bib file, without the .bib extension.
عدم تشغيل BibTeX
لا يعالج LaTeX وحده ملفات .bib. وتخطي تشغيل bibtex يترك الاقتباسات على شكل [?] ويحذف قائمة المراجع، وهو خطأ شائع جدًا بين المبتدئين.
الإصلاح:شغّل: pdflatex → bibtex → pdflatex → pdflatex. أو استخدم latexmk -pdf لأتمتة ذلك.
